Goals for Butler Middle School’s CSIP 2021-2022

 Attendance Goal: 
In the 2021-2022 school year, BMS will aim to have 85% of our students on track each quarter with attendance in all grades and student groups.  We define on track as students missing less than 10% (green and yellow).

Behaviors Goal:  
Behavior – 85% of students will report feeling connected to school on targeted school climate survey taken at the end each quarter.  We will average the percents of the 4 data questions related specifically to connectedness from the survey.

Coursework: Reading (RI) Goal: 

  • 80% of our students will be proficient or advanced on the Spring 2022 RI in each grade level.
  • 5% or less in BB and 15% or less in Basic in each grade level by the end of the school year. 
  • 80% of our SWD, ELLs,  and students in the Below Basic level will grow at least 50 points or one level in the January and April testing windows.

  • 75% of our students will be proficient or advanced on the Spring 2022 MI.

5. Upcoming Calendar Events (Genny) *Informational

  • Veterans Day Assembly was November 11th. This is a fun tradition that we all look forward to, our music department put on a wonderful show and Ms. Van Haaften our together a fabulous slideshow highlighting veterans in our community.
  • Golden Bruin – our next activity is Thursday 18 – Mickey Mouse Pez. We have about 150 students that earned the Golden Bruin award this month.
  • United Assembly–Nov. 23
  • Midterms—Midterms on Tuesday, November 23rd.
  • Holiday Concerts: Band/Orch Dec 8th, Dance Dec 9th, Choir Dec 15th at BHS

6. Other–FYI

    1. Remote Learning Fridays*–Next one is December 3
    2. Internet Safety–Doug will email out a list of ideas for the committee to review for our next meeting.
    3. Start thinking about data to review
    4. Passing period 5 minutes now, the halls seem less hectic and kids are calmer as they move from class to class.
    5. We are still desperate for more Subs . Teachers are covering on their prep periods, Monday we had 8 teachers out with only 3 subs. If you know anyone willing to be an emergency sub have them contact LaDena Saxey in the main office.
    6. We had almost 400 students make the honor roll for the 1st quarter. Certificates are being mailed this week.
