Goals for Butler Middle School’s TSSP 2024-2025
Attendance Goal:
Attendance – 80% of our students on-track each quarter with attendance. We define on track as students missing less than 10% (green and yellow).
Behaviors Goal:
Student Wellness – 90% of students will report feeling connected to school on targeted school climate surveys each quarter. We will average the 4 data questions related specifically to connectedness from the survey.
Coursework: Math Goal:
- 75% of our students will be proficient or advanced on the Spring 2025 district wide math screener.
- 5% or less in BB and 20% or less in Basic in each grade level by the end of the school year.
- 75% of our SWD, ML’s, and students in the Below Basic level will grow at least 50 points or one level in the January and April testing windows.
Coursework: Reading Goal:

- Winter MAP Testing Data:
- Bryan Rudes went over results for MAP Reading and Math Testing. He is working with Lindsay our Instructional Coach pulling all students information and final data to show what the correct percentiles and numbers will be.
- This will be presented during February’s meeting.
- Math Students at Butler who tested were 865 total (missing approx. 40 students).
- Students took the test over 3-4 days which takes away 15 days of ELA and Math Teachers instructions.
- Decision was made that Spring Testing will be ALL students during 1st – 3rd period, finishing off the test during those periods. This will alleviate time taken away from our ELA and Math Teachers. Teachers will use Elective Teachers to cover their Prep periods. More data next meeting.

- Current TSSP and Land Trust Plan:
- Budget numbers were shown. Literacy class is partly covered by Land Trust. Land Trust is used for Teachers. TSSP has more creative abilities and usage.
- More than half of those budget have been used at this time.

- Climate Survey was sent home with students. This will be sent out via Parent Square.
- Cell Tower Budget was discussed. There was a delay this year on where those funds were located. This has now been deposited and corrected for BMS. It is used for Students and Adults. The approval process and steps with SCC involvement. Writing a proposal on amounts to be approved will be presented during the next meeting.
- Break was taken to look at STEM and Makers Space. (8 min.)
- Upon return it was proposed that two different proposals be written on usage of Cell Tower funds. This will be approved and discussed in February.
- MI Data from the Fall 75% and Goal was achieved at 75%-80% that was set at the first of the year.

- PTSA Update:
- Sara Vranes – PTSA President
- Ice Machine donated by PTSA. This is located in the Teachers Faculty Room.
- The Capital field trip with PTSA students. This will be a self-guided Tour on February 11th at 9:00 am. 1st Friday of the month will be the PTSA Students meeting that will increase leadership opportunities and skills.

- Jenny Baker – Counseling Center
- Went over Student workshops. Parents and Students were presented those opportunities and signup instructions.
- Registration information for the 2025-26 year were gone over.
- 6th grade (incoming) for 2025-26 will be on Jan. 28th for all Feeder Elementary schools at 9:30 am – 10:30 am. Parent Night for incoming 6th graders will be on January 28th at 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm.
- Counselors will be at Elementary’s for Registration Feb. 10th – 14th.
- Rah Rah Assembly for 8th graders at Brighton High School.
