The Bruin Bite — 25 February

Greetings!

The weather sure changed over the last week.  Sunny days are here again.  While our state needs the water, I do love the sunny days.  Watching the sun come up as we are outside helping with drop off is amazing.  It is nice that we have such a great view of the mountains on those clear, sunny mornings.  Just a quick reminder that we do not have school on Friday (no virtual day) due to Parent Teacher Conferences this week.  Enjoy the long weekend.

Thank you for your support and kindness with our Shelter in Place this week.  It went as well as one can hope.  We practice these drills for just such a moment.  I am glad to report that all is well.

Parent Teacher Conferences-I want to thank you as well for your support with Parent Teacher Conferences.  We had a tremendous response.  A few parents reached out to share that they have appreciated the online format as it was more convenient to have the meetings online while going about their lives.  While I think many of us are tired of this pandemic, there have been some good things we have found. Online PTC might be one of those.

NetSmartz Assembly – We had our 3rd NetSmartz assembly during our 4th period classes Wednesday.  Attached is a flyer about understanding the sources with online information from the assembly.  It is a good idea to review this information with your family.  Keeping our students safe and smart with technology is an important task.  Utah NetSmartz – February Monthly Timely Tips for Parents.pdf

PTSA:  PTSA extended the Tissue Drive until March 4.  We encourage all families that can to support our tissue drive.  If you haven’t donated tissues now is the time!  The students in the grade that brings in the most boxes of tissues will receive 10 Bruins Bucks and a treat at lunch!

Build-A-Bruin – The following 1st period classes reached their classroom goal and got to spin the wheel for prizes:

  • Ms. Wilcox

Upcoming Events

  • March 14-31 – March Madness
  • March 16-18 – Talent Show Tryouts
  • March 19 – End of Term 3

Help Wanted – BMS is looking for a 19 hour ParaEducator.  If you are interested, or know of someone who might be interested, please contact Ms. Sara Allen at (801) 826-6813.

If there is anything we can do to support you and your student, please let us know.  And remember,

It’s always a GREAT day . . . To be a BRUIN!!!

Ms. Paula Logan

Bruins Den – March 2, 3, and 4.  The Bruins Den is available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the GREAT Room.  This is a time for students to complete homework and/or get help from teachers.  Each afternoon, two teachers are available in the GREAT Room to assist with student homework.  Students can work on their own or get assistance from a teacher.  Computers are available for homework.
