Greetings,
What a week! I am not sure I love starting the week with Valentines Day in the middle school, but we made it through. And while I may not have worn red, I did find some pink for the day. 🙂 A shout out to our 6th grade ELA. They ready Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and similar to our soda project, we did a chocolate bar project. Check out this link: Butler and the Chocolate Factory
Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up March 1st and March 2nd. March 1st will be in person appointments and March 2nd will be Zoom/online appointments. We had a lot of feedback from parents that indicated you really appreciated the specific appointment structure. BMS Parent Teacher Conferences Winter 2022.pdf

We Need Help with Substitutes – If you are available, as a district and a school we are in dire need of people willing to substitute. You can request specific schools.
Parent Resources—I know this was in the message last week, but it remains a concern. It this time of struggle for so many of us, it really become important to treat each other with kindness and grace. It is becoming too easy and acceptable to say or post or email mean and/or harsh inappropriate things. I encourage you to have a conversation with your child about:
- The negative impact this behavior can have on others–teens and adults. You may have intended to just make some people laugh, but there is generally a victim who is deeply hurt or embarrassed. Ensure they understand the impact this content has on their teachers.
- Talk about what is and isn’t appropriate to share online. It’s important for them to know that taking or using pictures or videos of anyone without their consent is not positive behavior.
- Help us support everyone in our school. If they(or you) see someone posting content about others or making negative comments about them, they need to be an upstander and take action. Remind them that a bystander contributes to the bullying by staying silent.
- Encourage your child to report inappropriate or bullying content that targets students or teachers in our building. They can do this by reporting on the app itself, by telling the school, or through SafeUT.
Upcoming Events:
- February 21 No School
- March 1-2 PTC 4:00-7:30
- March 3 Fire Drill
- March 8 State Orchestra
- March 9 PTSA Meeting, 3:30
- March 18 End of Quarter
And remember . . .
It’s Always a GREAT Day to be a Bruin!!
