The Bruin Bite — 11 March 2022

Greetings,

This weather, Brrrr!  I know we need the water that these storms bring, but I’m ready for some warm sunny days.  I love the sunshine–even on the cold days.  I love spring flowers, budding trees, and new beginnings.  Spring also brings us to the last quarter of the school year.  It moves really fast during this last quarter, so be prepared.  Friday, March 18th is the last day of the 3rd Quarter.  Just a reminder that we “Spring” ahead this weekend.  Don’t forget to change your clocks 🙂

Mr. Tellez and the BMS Orchestra 3 were invited to perform at the State Orchestra Festival at the University of Utah this week.  Congratulations!  It is exciting to have received the invitation. It is a special honor.  They did a GREAT job!!  Today our BMS Symphonic Band participated in the State Band Festival and they were fantastic as well!!!  It is exciting to see them compete with the best music groups in the state.  Here are the links to their performances: (You might need to be on cds docs–your kids have it on their chrome books)

Parent Teacher Conferences – Thank you to everyone who participated in Parent Teacher Conferences last week.  We had a great turn out.  A few parents shared that they have appreciated the online format as it was more convenient to have the meetings online. A big thank you to our PTSA and parent volunteers who put together a dinner on Tuesday.  The potatoes and chili and veggies were delicious.  And as always the desserts were a bit hit.  On those long days a little extra sugar does seem to help.

Spelling Bee – After 13 grueling rounds, Nathan Wiseman (8th – Kodiak) took first place by correctly spelling “coracle”.  Cash Keener took 2nd (8th – Kodiak). These students will move on to the regional spelling bee. All of our participants did an incredible job showing great sportsmanship, respectful behavior, and hard work.  Congratulations!

6th Grade Parents – It is a good time to start thinking about getting 7th grade immunizations. 7th Grade Immunizations
