Map Testing Results:
Numbers very similar to last year testing scores. Testing again in the Winter and then again in the Spring. The goal for Math and Literacy is 60% expected growth from where they started at the beginning of the year to achieve or exceed those numbers.

IT updates:
Not this year but the following school year 26-27 Qmlativ will switch over to the student side. Way more advanced and user friendly. Business Qmlativ will transition over in October of this year.

Chromebook safeguards have been put into place. Parents are already receiving emails in that regard. In Board meetings, it has been explained that Chromebooks are deemed an educational device. Because of this and the filters in place, there is a three-strike policy.

  1. Parents will get an email giving them notice that their student has either pulled up a gaming site or VPN (a way to bypass the filtering system) it will automatically stop them and send an alert to the
  2. It will take them to a second restriction that puts them at the lowest settings (elementary settings).
  3. It will shut off their system and a Parent meeting is required with an (2 minutes)

Cell Tower

Cell Tower to clarify and pass at SCC. There are no longer registration fees. Due to the change, some of those fees from Registration were given back in the form of a Principal Discretionary fund which we no longer have. This fund is used to support our teachers, as gifts for Back to School Night, dinners, or buy Spirit Wear for Staff. Here at Butler, we have a Cell Tower that we can use for those items in replacement. This will be discussed at the next SCC meeting.

Connective Survey

Top Goal behavior: 90% of students report feeling connected

To take the survey, it must be an opt in approval. A Parent Square will be sent out to the Community. This data is used to help find the need to build connections. We also identify groups and intervention ideas. Goal this year is to have more responses from Parents.

Thanks to Sara Vranes for her time as President of PTSA. Some activities that PTSA provide during lunches were discussed.

Memory Book Club meeting tomorrow. Parent square reminder was sent out. It is the Main fundraiser for PTSA. Red Ribbon week is coming the last week of September.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences on September 23rd and 24th • Feedback from Parents has been they would still like to have contact with the Teachers even when their grades are good.

There was a committee put together to go through some new ways to approach this suggestion.

  1. First day, first hour would be a breakout session like a business Conference. One being how to volunteer, become more involved, how to navigate Canvas, to learn the transition between grades etc Different breakout sessions
  2. The next two hours would be an Open House. Visuals in the classroom, where you can walk through and see how your student’s classroom is set up, what they are learning, and meet their teachers. Last hour would be breakout sessions for Parents who couldn’t attend in the beginning of the
  3. Second day would be three hours of scheduled appointments with Teachers, in person and then an hour at the end of evening would be breakout sessions for Parents who couldn’t attend the first

This will depend on what the Community decides and possibly the second night would just be scheduled appointments. Also mentioned, this would allow our PTSA to have more involvement with the Community as well and promote membership.
