Goals for Butler Middle School’s TSSP 2022-2023

Attendance Goal:
In the 2022-2023 school year, BMS will aim to have 85% of our students on track each quarter with attendance in all grades and student groups. We define on track as students missing less than 10% (green and yellow).

Behaviors Goal:
Behavior – 85% of students will report feeling connected to school on the targeted school climate survey. We will average the last 3 data questions related specifically to connectedness from the survey.

Coursework: MI (Math) Goal:
75% of our students will be proficient or advanced on the Spring 2023 Math Inventory (MI).

5% or less in Below Basic and 20% or less in Basic in each grade level by the end of the school year.

75% of our SWD, ELLs, and students in the Below Basic level will grow at least 50 points or one level in the January and April testing windows.

Coursework: RI (Reading) Goal:
80% of our students will be proficient or advanced on the Spring 2023 Reading Inventory (RI).

5% or less in Below Basic and 15% or less in Basic in each grade level by the end of the school year.

80% of our Students with Disabilities, English Language Learners, and students in the Below Basic level will grow at least 50 points or one level in the January and April testing windows.

  1. Approve the last meeting minutes (October and November) (Doug)
  • Ily Murdock made a motion to approve the October and November minutes, Sara Vranes 2nd the motion and the vote was All in favor.

 

  1. School Safety (Halley)  *Informational/Discussion
  • Safe walking route: no changes to the walking route.
    • We do need help in the parking lot with drop off and pick up. Would like help from the city. We will talk with Officer Kelly and create a plan.

 

  1. PTC—Feb. 28/March 1
    • Tuesday, Feb 28 In-Person Appointments
    • Wednesday, March 1 Online Appointments
    • March 2–Early Out day (Thursday)

 

  1. Update on LifeSkills Lessons:
    • The Canyons Student Services department has created 13 lessons. Butler Middle School has been selected to pilot the new program. We will only be using 7 of the 13 lessons as well already have several Bruin Time Kindness lessons planned.

 

  1. Feedback on School Communication–
    • ParentSquare – the families love having all the communication in one place.
    • Parent Nights – Parents would like to see the following classes offered:
      • How to Access Mental Health professionals
      • Bullying Resources for Parents

 

 

  1. Review CSIP Data from Mid-Year (Genny) *Informational
  • Attendance – do we need to reevaluate the 85%
